Crown Point Captures Lead Early To Defeat Lake Central
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-3 loss to Crown Point on Tuesday. Crown Point scored on a single by Cal Curiel in the second inning.
The Lake Central Varsity – 2021 struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Crown Point, giving up 11 runs.
Crown Point pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Curiel singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Crown Point scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Crown Point came thanks to a groundout by #2 and a double by #3.
Will Pettit led things off on the mound for Crown Point. The hurler allowed three hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out six.
Connor Misch was on the hill for Lake Central Varsity – 2021. Misch allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five. Adam Walters and Conor Pangburn entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
