Lake Central Splits Double Header with Penn

GAME #1 – LAKE CENTRAL (5) VS. PENN (16)

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 16-5 loss to Penn on Saturday. Penn took the lead on a stolen base in the first inning.

The Lake Central Varsity – 2021 struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Penn, giving up 16 runs.

Penn got things started in the first inning. Penn scored one run on a stolen base.

Penn scored seven runs in the sixth inning. Jason MigasRyan PlummerZac Hoskins, and Sean Doi each had RBIs in the big inning.

Brayden Schoetzow led things off on the mound for Penn. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Jack Fiorio was on the mound for Lake Central Varsity – 2021. The righty surrendered eight runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Trenton Praski and Austin Maslanka entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 tallied one home run on the day. Carter Doorn went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 racked up seven hits on the day. Josh AdamczewskiHunter Snyder, and Doorn all collected multiple hits for Lake Central Varsity – 2021DoornSnyder, and Adamczewski each collected two hits to lead Lake Central Varsity – 2021.

Penn tallied ten hits in the game. Ben Gregory and Hoskins all managed multiple hits for Penn.

GAME #2 – LAKE CENTRAL (14) VS. PENN (10)

Josh Adamczewski was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Saturday, driving in six on three hits to lead Lake Central Varsity – 2021 past Penn 14-10 on Saturday. Adamczewski drove in runs on a stolen base in the first, a single in the third, a single in the fourth, a walk in the fifth, and a single in the sixth.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Lake Central Varsity – 2021 collected nine hits and Penn nine in the high-scoring affair

Penn captured the lead in the second inning. Zac Hoskins singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

In the top of the third inning, Lake Central Varsity – 2021 tied things up at three. Adamczewski drove in two when Adamczewski singled.

After Lake Central Varsity – 2021 scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Penn answered with two of their own. Lake Central Varsity – 2021 scored when Connor Misch doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Adamczewski singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Penn then answered when Ryan Plummer singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and #35 drew a walk, scoring one run.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Adamczewski singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs and Carter Doorn doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Penn scored four runs in the third inning. Penn batters contributing to the big inning included PlummerMesser, and Mrizinski, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Adam Walters was on the mound for Lake Central Varsity – 2021Walters surrendered seven runs on five hits over two and a third innings, striking out two.

Evan Tuesley toed the rubber for Penn. The bulldog went two and a third innings, allowing three runs on zero hits. Bryce OwenLehmann, and Matt Sastre each contributed in relief for Penn.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 racked up nine hits in the game. AdamczewskiDoorn, and Jerry Edwards all had multiple hits for Lake Central Varsity – 2021Adamczewski went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lake Central Varsity – 2021 in hits.

Penn tallied nine hits in the game. Plummer and Hoskins all managed multiple hits for Penn. Plummer led Penn with three hits in four at bats. Penn tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Hoskins led the way with four.
