Lake Central Holds Onto Victory As LaPorte Almost Erases 5-Run Deficit
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 got out to a five-run lead in the third inning and held on for an 8-7 victory over LaPorte on Thursday. LaPorte scored four runs in the failed comeback on a double by Carson Stalbaum and a double by Gavin Zolvinski.
LaPorte scored four runs in the fifth inning, but Lake Central Varsity – 2021 still managed to pull out the victory. LaPorte big bats were led by Stalbaum and Zolvinski, all driving in runs in the inning.
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 opened up scoring in the first inning. Josh Adamczewski drove in one when Adamczewski doubled.
Connor Misch was on the mound for Lake Central Varsity – 2021. Misch lasted four innings, allowing four hits and six runs while striking out five.
Jack McGuire toed the rubber for LaPorte. The bulldog surrendered five runs on five hits over two innings. Hayden Lowe and Kai Jones entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.
Adamczewski went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lake Central Varsity – 2021 in hits. Lake Central Varsity – 2021 was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Peyton Gard had the most chances in the field with ten.
