Misch’s Walk-Off Gives Lake Central Varsity – 2021 Victory Over Zionsville

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 defeated Zionsville 7-6 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at six with Lake Central Varsity – 2021 batting in the bottom of the eighth when Connor Misch singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Lake Central Varsity – 2021 collected 11 hits and Zionsville had seven.
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 got on the board in the first inning when Misch singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 evened things up at six in the bottom of the seventh inning when Graham Weber singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

After Zionsville scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Lake Central Varsity – 2021 answered with two of their own. Zionsville scored when Jeb Garrett singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Brody Chrisman doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Lake Central Varsity – 2021 then answered when Carter Doorn singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 tallied three runs in the seventh inning. Misch and Weber each had RBIs in the frame.
Zionsville scored three runs in the third inning. Zionsville offense in the inning was led by Chrisman and David Novak, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Ethan Knopf toed the rubber for Lake Central Varsity – 2021. Knopf allowed six hits and five runs over six innings, striking out nine.

Drew Dickson led things off on the hill for Zionsville. Dickson lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six. Zach Nehlsen and Corey Woodruff entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 took Saturday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 walk-off victory over Zionsville. The game was tied at two with Lake Central Varsity – 2021 batting in the bottom of the eighth when Griffin Tobias drew a walk, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Lake Central Varsity – 2021 pitchers struck out four, while Zionsville pitchers sat down nine.

Lake Central Varsity – 2021 got things moving in the second inning, when Carter Doorn tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Zionsville knotted the game up at two in the top of the fourth inning. Zionsville scored one run on a stolen base.

Peyton Gard, Doorn, Matt Santana, Tobias, and Josh Warn all had one hit to lead Lake Central Varsity – 2021. Lake Central Varsity – 2021 was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ethan Knopf had the most chances in the field with five.
