Lake Central Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Valparaiso
Lake Central Indians Varsity took the lead late and defeated Valparaiso 11-6 on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Lake Central Indians Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Josh Adamczewski doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Adamczewski collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Lake Central Indians Varsity to victory. Adamczewski singled in the first, singled in the second, tripled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.
Lake Central Indians Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Brenden Smith singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Lake Central Indians Varsity scored four runs in the seventh inning. The rally was led by walks by Adamczewski and Smith and singles by Quinn O’Bryan and Garrett Weber.
Conor Pangburn pitched Lake Central Indians Varsity to victory. The pitcher allowed eight hits and five runs over five innings, striking out seven. Griffin Tobias threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Aiden Hooks took the loss for Valparaiso. The bulldog surrendered four runs on two hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one.
Cameron Milroy started the game for Valparaiso. Milroy lasted three and a third innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out seven
Lake Central Indians Varsity racked up 13 hits in the game. Adamczewski and Smith all collected multiple hits for Lake Central Indians Varsity. Adamczewski led Lake Central Indians Varsity with four hits in four at bats.
Valparaiso tallied 11 hits in the game. Logsn Lockgart and Thomas Vo each collected multiple hits for Valparaiso.
