Lake Central Captures Sectional Title With Win Over Highland

Lake Central Indians Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Highland 15-12 on Monday. The game was tied at 12 with Lake Central Indians Varsity batting in the bottom of the sixth when Connor Misch singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Misch collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Lake Central Indians Varsity to victory. Misch singled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Highland got things moving in the first inning, when Sean Harder singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Highland scored six runs in the fifth inning. Jason BognerBryce OzelieMax HerringAerik Tanis, and Aleksander Havlin all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Ethan Knopf was credited with the victory for Lake Central Indians VarsityKnopf surrendered six runs on three hits over two innings, striking out one. Blake SivakJosh Warn, and Griffin Tobias all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Tyler Stewart took the loss for Highland. The bulldog surrendered five runs on eight hits over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Lake Central Indians Varsity socked three home runs on the day. Misch had a long ball in the fourth inning. Josh Adamczewski had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Matt Santana went deep in the fourth inning.

Lake Central Indians Varsity tallied 12 hits. Misch and Garrett Weber each managed multiple hits for Lake Central Indians VarsityMisch led Lake Central Indians Varsity with four hits in five at bats.

Highland scattered nine hits in the game. Bogner and Harder each racked up multiple hits for Highland.
