Early Lead For Valparaiso Seals Fate For Lake Central
Lake Central Varsity – 2021 watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-0 loss to Valparaiso on Thursday. Valparaiso scored on a single by Logan Lockhart in the first inning.
The Lake Central Varsity – 2021 struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Valparaiso, giving up eight runs.
Valparaiso got things started in the first inning when Lockhart singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Lake Central Varsity – 2021 was a single by Matt Santana in the sixth inning.
Grant Comstock led the Valparaiso to victory on the hill. The ace lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out 13 and walking one.
