Lake Central Splits Doubleheader with South Bend Adams

Game #1

Lake Central Indians Varsity Stays Scrappy In Loss To South Bend Adams

Despite a 5-run deficit in the second inning, Lake Central Indians Varsity almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-5 to South Bend Adams on Saturday. Lake Central Indians Varsity tallied five runs in the failed comeback. Matt Santana, Josh Adamczewski, Garrett Weber, Santana, and Brenden Smith came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Lake Central Indians Varsity couldn’t keep up with South Bend Adams early in the game. South Bend Adams scored on a error in the first inning, a home run by TRE FONSECA in the second inning, a double by Drew Stuvetz in the second inning, and a double by Josh Thompson in the second inning.

In the first inning, South Bend Adams got their offense started. An error scored two runs for South Bend Adams.

South Bend Adams scored three runs in the second inning. FONSECA, Stuvetz, and Thompson powered the big inning with RBIs.

Nate Bolin got the win for South Bend Adams. The fireballer went five innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out six. Jacob Muluehill threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ethan Knopf took the loss for Lake Central Indians Varsity. The righthander allowed four hits and six runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Lake Central Indians Varsity socked one home run on the day. Santana had a four bagger in the third inning.

Weber went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lake Central Indians Varsity in hits.

FONSECA led South Bend Adams with two hits in two at bats.

Game #2

Four RBI Day For Matt Santana Brings In Win For Lake Central Indians Varsity Over South Bend Adams

Matt Santana was bad news for opposing pitchers on Saturday, driving in four on three hits to lead Lake Central Indians Varsity past South Bend Adams 19-6 on Saturday. Santana drove in runs on a home run in the first and a double in the second.

South Bend Adams scored six runs in the second inning, but Lake Central Indians Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. N Nithnthorn, J Thompson, and Miller all drove in runs in the frame.

Lake Central Indians Varsity got things started in the first inning when Griffin Tobias tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Blake Sivak was the winning pitcher for Lake Central Indians Varsity. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out six. Josh Warn threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Jacob Hoftman took the loss for South Bend Adams. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing six hits and four runs while walking one.

Micinsky started the game for South Bend Adams. Micinsky allowed 12 hits and ten runs over one inning, striking out one and walking zero

Lake Central Indians Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Santana went for the long ball in the first inning. Warn had a four bagger in the second inning.

Lake Central Indians Varsity scattered 26 hits in the game. Tobias, Josh Adamczewski, Colin Mason, Santana, Brenden Smith, Owen Williams, Connor Misch, Garrett Weber, and Warn each collected multiple hits for Lake Central Indians Varsity. Adamczewski and Tobias all had four hits to lead Lake Central Indians Varsity.
