Lake Central Gets Passed Munster in Extra Innings

Lake Central Indians Varsity Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Munster

Lake Central Indians Varsity snagged a late lead and defeated Munster 8-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Lake Central Indians Varsity batting in the top of the eighth when Ethan Knopf doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Lake Central Indians Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hunter Snyder singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Munster tied things up at five. Munster scored one run when Brady Ginaven singled.

After Lake Central Indians Varsity scored one run in the top of the fifth, Munster answered with one of their own. Lake Central Indians Varsity scored when Josh Adamczewski singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Munster then answered when Tyler Lukowski singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Conor Pangburn led the Lake Central Indians Varsity to victory on the mound. Pangburn lasted four innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out six and walking zero. Griffin Tobias and Connor Misch entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Ginaven took the loss for Munster. Ginaven allowed five hits and five runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one.

Lake Central Indians Varsity hit one home run on the day. Garrett Weber had a long ball in the sixth inning.

Weber went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lake Central Indians Varsity in hits.

Munster racked up 12 hits on the day. Jake ThometzKevin HallGinaven, and Tyler Blair each collected multiple hits for Munster. Thometz led Munster with four hits in four at bats.
