LC Falls To Penn On Final Play Of Regional Championship

Lake Central Indians Varsity fell to Penn 5-4 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four with Penn batting in the bottom of the seventh when Zac David singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Penn got on the board in the first inning when Ben Gregory singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Lake Central Indians Varsity notched four runs in the fourth inning. Lake Central Indians Varsity‘s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Owen Williams and Ethan Knopf.

Adam Lehmann pitched Penn to victory. The pitcher surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two. Ian Hernandez and Joe Trenerry entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Connor Misch took the loss for Lake Central Indians Varsity. The southpaw went two innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two.

Garrett WeberHunter SnyderMischGriffin TobiasKnopf, and Williams each collected one hit to lead Lake Central Indians Varsity.

Penn tallied seven hits on the day. Cam Dombrowski and David each collected multiple hits for Penn. Penn didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dombrowski had the most chances in the field with five.
